plaster cores with coloured paper gores, signed in cartouche as per title, the terrestrial inscribed Drawn from the most recent Geographical Works shewing the whole of the New Discoveries with the TRACKS of the PRINCIPAL NAVIGATORS and every improvement in Geography to the present Time; the celestial inscribed NEW CELESTIAL GLOBE on which are carefully laid down the whole of the STARS and NEBULAE contained in the catalogues of Wollaston, Herschel, Bode, Piazzi, Zach &c. Calculated to the year 1820, each contained within calibrated brass meridian rings and mounted in mahogany tripod stands with paper horizon rings and countersigned glazed compass stretchers -- 39in. (99cm.) high overall

Condition Report

Terrestrial: Globe in overall fair condition, area of restoration to the Solomon Islands with several repairs, cracks and tears, half-inch puncture to the South Pole revealing plaster, repairs around North Pole, meridian in reasonable condition with typical time staining and spotting, one part of compass stretcher detached and taped to leg, compass glazed and containing needle, old repair to leg section of stand;

Celestial: long crack running along equatorial with modest paper lost by ‘February’, evidence of old restoration repairs, refurbished, horizon ring in reasonable condition, stand probably refurbished, compass lacking section by east, no glass or needle, paper in poor and dirty condition.
