Ashgate, USA, 1993, VII p.99-128, in which Anthony Turner outlines the intricate mathematical design relationship between Elias Allen, Edmund Gunter and William Oughtred (1574-1660). The Allen sundials illustrated here have punched numerals which match those seen on this quadrant.
