comprising turned brass-bound body with ivory threaded cutting edge and folding trimming blade -- 3in. (7.5cm.) high

This neat device allowed the owner to re-shape his quill nib quickly by inserting into a shaped slot and giving one twist of the drive screw, the ink channel could then be slit with the folding blade.

Two-three shrinkage cracks to side of main body; mechanism appears to work well and metal work remains bright and sharp with little sign of rust or wear.
